Just an update. Debbie and I bought Frasier's Sports Bar and Grill in Everett. Actually, 1010 N. Broadway, Everett, WA. You can check out the blog page at www.1010broadway.com. We still own ashlar realty and enjoy the real estate business. This was just an opportunity we couldn't pass up;) Thanks! -Boe

The Internet is out of control

This really hits at the core of what many people fail to understand about the Internet. It's really impossible to control anything, so those who get it understand that it is about making the best of this situation instead of trying to control what is completely out of control:

"Not only do these efforts contradict fundamental American values, it is not clear if they would help fight terrorism. Even if YouTube pulled down every video Mr. Lieberman did not like, radical groups could post the same videos on their own Web sites. Trying to restrain the Internet is a game of “whack-a-mole” that cannot be won, says John Morris of the Center for Democracy and Technology. Having the videos on YouTube may even be a good thing, because it makes it easier for law enforcement officials, the media and the public to monitor the groups and their messages."

As a side note, I do believe that Senator Lieberman will go down as one of the more intriguing figures ever involved in a presidential election. He was definitely an interesting choice as Al Gore's running mate in the 2000 Presidential Election.

More photos of the fire

House Fire in Lynnwood

Here are the first photos from a fire at my rental property in Lynnwood. Link to the article in the Herald: http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20080514/NEWS01/518360444&news01ad=1#Family.safe.after.kitchen.fire

Luckily everyone made it out safely. The address is 2424 135th Pl SW, Lynnwood. This having been my former residence, it was pretty sad to see it in such a state. But hopefully starting tomorrow the insurance people will be on this and the place will be put back together.

WOOT off

It's going on until at least 10 pm today. . . go to www.woot.com, there will be one item on there for sale. When they sell out of that, they'll put something else up, and so on. But the items are usually very good deals, and everything's $5 shipping.

Happy Wooting,

The History of Pirate Films. . . .

From wikipedia:

The abject failure of Cutthroat Island is also credited with significantly reducing the bankability and Hollywood production of piracy-themed films, which only recovered with the production of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.
