This is a really rare record, as it was the first pressing of the first Beach Boys' single, Surfin. It's on Ebay right now, but not something you'd find every day.

Food, fun and stilts: Taste photo gallery

Here are some great shots from Chris Goodenow (Enterprise photographer) from the recent Taste of Edmonds. I went on Saturday, and despite some light rain, it was, as usual, a great event. I enjoyed my Philly sandwich, Gyro, Sticky Rice Ball, BBQ Pork Slider, and Lemonade.

The 26th annual Taste of Edmonds wrapped up Aug. 10, after a bustling weekend that saw 70's rock icon Edgar Winters and large crowds.

Greenspan sees house price bottom in 2009: report (Reuters)

This would be good news if it's true. He always had the insight when he was in charge, hopefully he is close to reality with this one and he hasn't lost his touch.

Sound Publishing in the news

Check out this article about Sound Publishing and David Black. A very
accurate and well-written piece, in my opinion.

Mariners Release Vidro

The Mariners finally rid themselves of Jose Vidro today, the player who single handily would lead one to question the existence of the designated hitter rule. You might as well have the pitcher just bat, right? What was Bavasi thinking? His last year (with the Washington Nationals) before Bavasi's brilliant move to bring him on as the M's DH, his BA/HR/RBI line was .289/7/47. In a FULL season. Yeah, that's the kind of line that would make me want to rush out and grab him for my DH.

Now that Vidro and Sexson are gone, they're well on their way to clearing up their roster (and their payroll) and just letting some of the young guys play.
